All-abilities boardwalk delivered for Newburgh & Ythan Community Trust

There has been tremendous positive feedback for the new All-Abilities boardwalk and viewpoints on a recently completed project by the McGowan Environmental team in Newburgh, Aberdeenshire.

The official opening of the boardwalk and viewpoint on August 30th realised Newburgh & Ythan Community Trust's plans to further improve visitor facilities in the area. There is now unobstructed access for wheelchair users to the Newburgh Beach and the new boardwalk encourages people to visit and view the resident seals from a safe distance.

In total 308m of new timber boardwalk was constructed complete with passing places and a new low-level viewpoint and bench seat. As part of the same project the McGowan Environmental team upgraded and extended the existing high-level viewpoint, and installed anti slip treads to the existing recycled plastic boardwalk.
