Continuing the Company’s involvement within the SNH/Pearls in Peril habitat improvement scheme, McGowan Ltd were successfully awarded its third successful tender bid, this occasion to reconnect an existing backwater channel with the main River Spey near Aviemore.

Works consisted of rock armour placement at riverside, and the installation of 5 metre by 900mm diameter concrete culvert pipes to allow water passage through and into the backwater channel from the River Spey.

• Temporary Access Formation – Construction of raised causeway with integrated culverts to cross 10 metre backwater channel
